Fishing

Iron County has 154 uncrowded lakes with public access and 136 miles of trout streams. That variety of lakes gives you opportunities for everything from panfish to walleye and musky. In the Hurley area, both the Gile Flowage and Pine Lake are Class A1, best known as "trophy waters" for their ability to provide the best in muskellunge fishing.

Lake Superior provides some excellent fishing, too. Whether you bring your own boat or get a gang together to take a charter from Saxon Harbor, you'll discover real deep sea fishing right here in the Midwest.

Ice fishing is also a popular sport during Iron County's winter months.
