Hurley Chamber Launches Small Business Accessibility and Infrastructure Revitalization Program

Hurley, WI — The Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of the Hurley Small Business Accessibility and Infrastructure Revitalization Program, an initiative designed to strengthen the downtown economy by investing in the physical and operational sustainability of local small businesses.

This program provides direct financial assistance to eligible businesses seeking to improve safety, accessibility, and long-term operational success. Through targeted infrastructure investments and technical support, the initiative aims to help businesses remain competitive while creating a more welcoming and resilient downtown business environment.

Grant funding may be used to assist businesses in:

Meeting insurance eligibility requirements by addressing code compliance and building safety improvements
Improving ADA accessibility through physical upgrades or alternative accommodation strategies
Participating in technical assistance programs that support sustainable business practices and long-term operational planning

The program reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting small business owners while enhancing the accessibility, safety, and vitality of the Hurley business community.

PAAVO NURMI MARATHON ANNOUNCES CASH PRIZES FOR TOP FINISHERS

Hurley, Wisconsin - The Paavo Nurmi Marathon is proud to announce the addition of cash prizes for top finishers in the 2026 event, adding even more excitement to one of the Midwest's most historic road races.  As Wisconsin's oldest marathon, the Paavo Nurmi Marathon has been a cherished tradition for runners and spectators alike since 1969.  This year's event continues that tradition while recognizing outstanding athletic achievement with the following cash awards :

  • Full Marathon
    • 1st Place Male Overall : $250
    • 1st Place Female Overall : $250
  • Half Marathon
    • 1st Place Male Overall : $250
    • 1st Place Female Overall : $250
  • 5-person Relay
    • 1st Place Overall Team : $500

Volunteers --- Making a difference for the Community

The Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce organizes 3 annual events:  

Memorial Day ATV/ UTV Parade, Poker Run & Weekend Rally
Paavo Nurmi Marathon
Festival Italiano

We are seeking volunteers to help support us during the preparation, set up, day of, and post event duties.  If you are interested, join one of our committee meetings.

Memorial Day Weekend Committee:  Weekly on Tuesdays, 4:00 pm 
Paavo Nurmi Marathon Committee:   Bi-weekly on Mondays, 3:00 pm
Meetings are held at the Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce Office

Iron County Trail System

2026 Iron County ATV/UTV Trails Season Opener


Dust off your helmets! The Iron County ATV / UTV trails  for the season opened on May 14, 2026 at 7:00 AM.

  • Trail 2 / 6 between Hoyt Road, White Cap, and Old 10 will remain closed until May 21st to allow further drying.
  • Watch for active logging on Trail 8 between Cramer Lake Road and Trail 17A.

Remember, equipment and log trucks have the right of way!

Ride right, ride safe, and ride sober and enjoy the 2026 season in Iron County.
